Luxury for Princess Clip In Hair Extensions Review

 Hey Beauties!

This week I filmed a quick review on some hair extensions that I have just been loving! Ever since I took out my micro link strand by strand extensions and cut my hair last June, I have been lusting after long hair. I've tried out quite a few brands- some I hated and a couple I really liked. These....I LOVE! I also filmed a How To video on how I clip them in and blend them with my shorter hair. That will be up this early on in the week.

I am not getting paid for this video, the hair extensions were sent to me for review and these are my honest opinions. Also, they were nice enough to give me a coupon code for you guys to get a discount if you'd like to try them! You can go HERE and use coupon code AMANDA for $7 off your purchase!

Hope this was helpful!

Sigma Essential Brush Kit Review

essential_kit

Ok, so if you've been watching my latest videos you know I've been RAVING about my new Sigma Beauty brushes. After months and months and months of contemplating purchasing these brushes I finally took the plunge---and let me tell you----I couldn't be happier! I have always heard that makeup application is all in the brush and if you need proof just get an Instagram account and follow Vegas_Nay, because she has created some of the most beautiful looks using E.L.F. palettes! See there...all in the brushes.

So, after months of putting the Essential Brush Kit in my shopping cart...and leaving it there... I came across a 10% off coupon and was like YOLO!

The kit comes with 12 brushes total- 4 large face brushes and 8 eye brushes. It retails for $98, which seems like a lot but if you do the breakdown that is about  $8 a brush! SUPER cheap- if you know anything about makeup, you know that brushes can be very expensive. Not to mention the quality of these brushes are of high-end caliber. So, YES, very AFFORDABLE my pretties!

IMG_0741

The face brushes that are included are the Large Powder (F30), Duo Fiber (F50), Large Angled Contour  (F40), and Foundation  (F60)

Out of the face brushes I love....all of them..seriously.  I haven't used the foundation brush and the duo fiber brush as much because I hardly ever wear foundation and during the summer I only wear BB Cream when I am going out lately.

I have been using the powder brush everyday to apply my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (which I use to set my concealer and to give a little coverage on my bare face) and the contour brush to apply my blush. Ok, I guess I can say that the large contour brush is my favorite because it is PERFECT for applying blush!

All of the face brushes are soft and dense and I haven't experienced any shedding with any of them!! LOVE IT!!

IMG_0740

The eye brushes included in the kit are the Eye Shading (E55), Medium Angled Shading (E70), Tapered Blending (E40), Concealer (F70) -technically a face brush but ya know, Large Shader (E60), Pencil (E30), Small Angle (E65), and Eyeliner (E05).

I really like the eye brushes too! I think the large shader brush is a little big for my small eyes but I think it's great for variety and when I am doing my friend's makeup!

The standout eye brushes are the tapered blending, the pencil, and the eyeliner! And you're probably saying DUH right now, because I have talked about them constantly since I've purchased them but they are my go to brushes everyday! I have seen a little bit of shedding with the tapered blending after I washed it, but nothing significant and nothing that is going to stop me from purchasing some extras for my makeup kit.

NOW for the best part of this whole review! Sigma is offering 10% off this month if you use the code MNSF2013  and I would highly recommend taking advantage of this discount because they only come around so often.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Palette Review

IMG_0845

Hey Beauties!

One of the hottest palette out right now is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk palette, so of course I wanted to see what all the buzz was about. Also, since this palette is a part of my giveaway I thought it would only be fair for you to see exactly what you're getting and my opinion of it. This one is mine, your palette was not harmed in the making of this blog post.  I got one for myself because that's how I roll, lol actually I've been dying for this palette to come out so I HAD to have!

First off,  the packaging of this palette totally got me. Come on now, you know I love leopard! It is cardboard and the leopard spots are a velvety material. Very cute!!

IMG_0923

It comes boxed and with a brochure to tell you about the palette colors and even has some makeup pictorials in it! Nice touch-- I love seeing that with a palette. Takes some of the guesswork out for people who are not sure about what looks they can create. LOVE!

IMG_0850

Like most palettes, it comes with a brush. Unlike most palettes, I actually like this brush. It is a double ended brush for blending and lining. Both very fluffy, I haven't seen any shedding with it either. Pretty impressed with that!

Ok, let's get down to business.  This palette has 10 colors, more on the warmer side-  which I tend to favor.
Very beautiful and pigmented! The reason I wanted to see this palette in the store rather than just order it online is because I have swatched palettes from Anastasia Beverly Hills before and I wasn't super impressed with the color payoff. So I wanted to make sure this one lived up to the hype and I must say it does!

There is a great mix of shimmer shadows and matte shadows, that is something I look for in a good palette. I think to get the most for your money, you should have that variety.

Top Row: Call Back (shimmer), Strut (shimmer), Scout (shimmer), Beauty Mark(matte), LBD (matte)
IMG_0853
Bottom Row: Day Rate (matte), Couture (shimmer), RTW (shimmer), 10K (shimmer), Pose(shimmer)

Bottom Row: Day Rate (matte), Couture (shimmer), RTW (shimmer), 10K (shimmer), Pose(shimmer)

As you can see, the colors are really pigmented. They are very smooth and apply very nicely. I often find that I can get some awesome swatches, but it just does not apply as well with the brush and on the actual eye. Totally NOT the case with these colors! They look amazing on the eye and blend very easily.

I love all of the colors, but if I had to pick a favorite I would go with Scout. It is a shimmery peach color and I think that is unique to this palette. I love peachy colors and I hardly find them in palettes and when I do they are not usually this pigmented. They are usually very sheer colors. So LOVE that!

I did find that there wasn't an ideal color for a brow highlight, because the lighter colors are shimmery. I guess that's more of a preference thing though, I prefer a matte highlight under the brow.

Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend this palette because not only is it gorgeous, it is SUPER afforadble! This palette retails for $29, which is a steal in my opinion for 10 high quality eyeshadows and a fab brush! MUST HAVE hunny!

You can enter my giveaway for your chance to win one along with some other amazing goodies OR you can find it at Ulta or at Anastasia Beverly Hills!

Hope this was helpful!

June Favorites

Hey Beauties!

June is ova and I am ready for July! I always love July, the 4th is always fun and my hubby's birthday is next week. Anyways, here is a video featuring my June favorites. I didn't do a ton of makeup shopping this month, mainly because I am trying to use the stuff I have more. I was starting to feel a bit wasteful when I was looking through my vanity and found several brand new blushes that I haven't even used. Unless it's a MUST, I am going to work on walking away---- good luck to me!

What was your favorites from the month of June?!? Leave me a comment down below!

RiRi Hearts M•A•C Lipsticks + RiRi Woo Tutorial

riri-summer-beauty-300-94889_0x440

A couple months ago Rihanna and MAC launched their first product of the 4 collections we can expect from them this year. RiRi Woo was the first to be released-- a gorgeous red similar to its mama Ruby Woo, but a little darker, a little less drying, and a retro matte finish. I don't have Ruby Woo and I don't believe I need it after getting RiRi Woo on my team! Love, love the color and it looks amazeballs on everyone!

 RiRi Woo                                  RiRi Boy                                    Heaux

Just this past week MAC launched the second round which included 2 additional lipsticks RiRi Boy and Heaux (and the re-release of Riri Woo).  Both are also retro matte finishes and they are both just as stunning as RiRi Woo! MAC also released a blush/bronzer duo in Hibiscus Kiss ($26.00 SOLD OUT on MAC online) and Lustre Drops in Barbados Girl ($20.00 SOLD OUT on MAC online). Basically, the whole collection sold out within hours!

All I had a serious interest in was the lippies! Especially after having and loving RiRi Woo so much, I knew they were MUST haves!! Okayyyy... and of course I was right! Check them out for yourself!

    RiRi Woo, RiRi Boy, HeauxIMG_0702

All of the lipsticks were $15 and were only available online. If you missed out this time around, don't worry, you'll have another chance. Two in fact, because there are still 2 more collections that will be launched, and it's rumored that lipsticks are going to be featured in those too!!

My favorite overall, and maybe it's because it's summer, is RiRi Boy. I love purple on my skin tone and it wears the most comfortable of the three. They are a bit drying, but they are matte and that finish is known to be a bit drying. Keep a light balm on your lips and around when you re-apply and you will be fine! I didn't use liner for these swatches, but they are highly recommended for the darker colors.

The only thing I didn't like about this collection was the ridiculously long processing time on the MAC website...um as if I didn't have anything better to do then clench my teeth at my desk for 3 hours waiting for my order to go through...not cool MAC...not cool! And on top of that, the RiRi Woo I ordered to include in my giveaway came UNATTACHED to the base..frickin unacceptable with such a limited collection!

Other than that, I'm beyond pleased with my purchases and highly recommend getting your hands on these if you can catch them! Good luck beauties!
IMG_0721

If you need an idea for how to wear RiRi Woo, here is a tutorial for how I like to wear it! A bold red lip calls for lashes and winged liner......nothing more classic ♡

Amanda

Smashbox Heat Wave Palette Review

IMG_0029

Let me just tell you guys, I have been eyeing the Heat Wave palette for sometime now. Was a little bit unsure because A. I currently have more than enough eyeshadow (so why can't I stop?!) and B. it's price tag! (Retails $48.00 at Ulta). Neither of those two problems got in the way though, because I got this baby as a birthday gift from my bestie!

The Heat Wave palette is limited edition. It has 10 colors< that can be worn wet or dry> and comes with a double ended eyeshadow brush.

The packaging is pretty sleek and simple. It's light and though it could be smaller, the size is pretty functional for travel. Plus it has a ridiculously huge mirror in the compact-- that makes up for it!

When I was looking at the palette, I was instantly drawn to the neutral tones in the palette, especially the peachy and metallic tones--very on trend. All of the shadows are very soft, perfect for summer makeup looks.

The top 5 colors are warmer tones.
Color Descriptions L-R: soft matte peach, soft champagne beige, soft matte caramel, golden pink, gold

The bottom 5 colors are cooler tones.

Final thoughts on this palette. It's very pretty and has been welcomed into my collection. It is a summer palette so the colors are meant to be light, but there are a couple of colors in the top row-soft matte peach, soft champagne beige, soft matte caramel-that don't show up well on my skin tone wet or dry. That was a drawback for me, that's 3 out of 10 colors I can't really use. The other 7 colors are very gorgeous though, my favorites are soft golden sea blue, gold, and golden pink.  I would not rank this up there with my Naked palette, but this is a nice seasonal addition to a collection.

XoXo,
Amanda
